TERMS OF SALE:
We reserve the right to retain any animal from any breeding at any time and will try to list them as 'retained' on the kidding schedule if possible. Sometimes, farm life (kidding esecially) is unpredictable and retaining a kid you did not initially intent to retain may be a necessity.
I do not accept deposits on unborn kids. You can put your name down on a wait list and after kidding, I will go through the list in order. Once you have been notified there is a kid available from your selection, you will have 10 days to send in a NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT THAT IS HALF THE PURCHASE PRICE.
If you want to hold a kid already born until weaning age, or if you want to hold an adult, I require a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit THAT IS HALF THE PURCHASE PRICE on kids and adults. All kids on a deposit hold must be picked up by 12 weeks of age if we agreed to wean them for you, or within 2 weeks of sending the deposit if we agreed you would raise the kid. All Adults must be picked up within 2 weeks of placing the deposit. Any kid (or adult) that is not picked up by the mutually agreed date will be reposted for sale and the deposit will be lost.
A monthly payment plan can be arranged at MY discretion for any kid of any breeding that is not being retained. However, the kid will not leave until it is paid for in full and if the payments extend beyond the kid's 12 week birthday, a daily care fee of $5/day will apply from then on. If payments stop, all money is lost to me and the kid is reposted for sale.
If for any reason you are not completely happy with your purchase from us, please talk to us about it. If you chose to instead get on Facebook and spread lies, your buisness. But mine is to assemble really great bloodlines for some really great show and milk goats. Tho some claim otherise, no one can predict genetics and even the best herds have culls. We are happy to work out any concerns you may have. As long as you do your part to care for the animal, we'll do our part to care for the well-being of our herd name and everything we produce and sell. We are happy to replace any animal you feel is sub par when you talk to us about it, for the purchase amount.
We do offer a multiple kid purchase on does and herd sires or a combo. Purchase 3 or more and we will deduct $50 from the price of each purchase. In most cases, if you purchase a doe, a wether can accompany that doe for free. (Depending upon the availability.)
We also offer a discount to a DHI and/or show home. Our goal is to produce milkers that show. So anyone showing and milking from our herd name, is helping us do just that. And we want to thank you for choosing us!
Because we have absolutely no control over an animal once it leaves our farm, understand that we are here to offer moral support and answer questions. However, that goat belongs to you once it leaves. We invite you for a visit, we spend a lot of time answering emails, phone calls, and texts. We have no problem supplying medical records, or a vet's health certificate prior to purchase if you wish but the cost will be on you and must be prepaid. Our vet will do this for $26. We do everything within our limited human ability to offer only healthy animals for sale. But as with all things in life, there are absolutely no guarantees. This is a live animal, dependent on a caregiver and a knowledgeable vet if needed which will undeniably be stressed with a move. If you have a problem, talk to us about it!
Texas Marigolds' is my partner Nigerian herd, Short on Heaven is my Nigerian herd. At times, I do sell animals with both herd names and we show and milk test with those herd names as well. All herds are tested negative for CAE, and Tx Marigolds' has been a closed herd, like Short on Heaven, for several years.
*ALL OF OUR ORIGINAL (NOT OUR HERD NAME) REGISTERED DAIRY GOATS ARE PURCHASED FROM REPUTABLE BREEDERS WHO TEST CAE NEGATIVE!*
All of our kids will be disbudded, vaccinated for CD/T, and tattooed (in most cases) with registration paper work to the ADGA at the time of sale. Yes our goats are already registered that we breed, show, and have appraised. They produce offspring that is eligible for registration however that is the buyers responsibility to record that registration with the agencies. Which is why kids are sold with the papers for the buyer to register them. Why? Because if I register them, they are my kids, not the buyers.
We test for CAE and periodically for Johnes and CL, due to the high costs of those tests. If you want these tests done specifically for an animal you purchase, those costs will be on you but we will have it done. We have no problem supplying you a copy of the negative reports on any of our animals tested and a copy of that documentation will be provided for an animal sold that has been tested. Just ask us!
As a general rule, we do not test the juniors until they are around 1 year old to ensure the accuracy of the tests. If you would like your kid tested before it leaves, you must pay for that blood test before we send it in. However, the labs do not recommend a test done on anything younger than 6 months. It is your money, it is your call. We're happy to oblige though.
We do bottle feed and dam raise our kids. If you place a deposit on a kid once they are born and want us to pull the kid to bottle feed, you must let us know by 5 days old and you MUST put up the half of the purchase price deposit. We do charge more for bottle kids that WE bottle feed due to the amount of work required. However, you can pick up your bottle kid within 2 weeks of purchase and not be charged more. There are circumstances that require us to leave the kids with the dam from time to time. Rest assured, four children make sure they get plenty of socialization.
Prices for kids vary and are listed over the name of each animal on the kidding schedule or the For Sale pages. Prices are based upon what number kidding this is for the dam, milk records, Linear Appraisal scores, and show wins in the kid's pedigree.
We may offer a herd sire on occasion. But it is our opinion that most bucks need to be wethered. Our herd sires are more pricey than our does. Why? Because it takes years to see the results of a herd sire, after his genetics are all in your herd, and maybe others too. We put a great deal of confidence in offering a buck intact. And ensuring he does the job you have paid him to do is a priority for us!
If you do purchase a herd sire from our farm and are not satisfied with the attachment or milk production (after the 2nd freshening), have provided the required level of care to maintain a healhty herd, and also have bred him to does of equal quality pedigrees, we will replace the buck for another of mutual choice for the same purchase price. (**In other words, do not buy a buck from us and go get a bunch of non recorded does from a sale barn and expect great results. And do not complain about a half starved animal that has never been wormed or fed properly. Also do not assume that you can buy a buck from us for $1400 and exchange him for a buck that is priced at $2100 unless you are wiling to make up the difference.**) We do want you to be completely happy with your herd sire.
Understand that though we try very hard to breed the best of the best, we still deal with genetics and there are no guarantees as to how that will play out. We will do our best to keep our herd name reputable and will work with you. A buck can make or break your herd and we do not want a 'breaker' with our herd name out there.
And finally, I am a very gracious and understanding person. I will work with you however I can and help you get what you need when you need it - but don't take advantage of me!
